Dan Simplicio [1917-1969] a world-renowned Zuni artist made history by being the first to set red coral and turquoise in hand-made set bezels. In 1975 more than 50 pieces by Simplicio were auctioned at Sotheby’s (where Picasso and Da Vinci’s artworks were auctioned). Today Simplicio’s work can be found in museums and his highly individual designs are recognized around the world.
